2022 R1250 Top Case

Purchased my first BMW motorcycle last month.  Upon purchase, I ordered an OEM top case and have yet to receive it after a full month.  Not much info from the dealer other than it's on order.  Any other experiences out there on the lag time to get the top case?  Supply chain issue?

I just inquired about one and was told that it was 8 to 10 weeks delivery time for the color-matched deluxe (electrics and carpet) as none were to be found in the supply chain. Alternative was to do a basic white or unpainted and then have it color matched locally - would cut the time in about half.


It appears it all depends upon the color.

the dealership will give you the bike colour code for your bike, no matter of the colour.
It will work out cheaper and quicker that way and if ordering a new bike the topcase can be ready for when the bike is delivered (in the UK anyway)

Thanks.  Mine is the black storm metallic.  Interestingly, the sale person told me 3-5 days back on March 9th.  I figured that seemed a bit optimistic.  Guess I won't get too excited for another month or more then.  I have an old Shad SH50 I could mount but really want to hold out for the OEM.

Looked it up on a couple of websites and it shows "available", as opposed to "back ordered", which means there's one somewhere in the supply chain available in either US or Germany (or where ever they're made). Does say 10 to 12 days delay before it gets shipped. So worst case US would be around 19 to 20 days probably and maybe a total of 30 days if it were coming from the EU.
