Forks Mounted Wind/Noise Deflector

Post by Iain »

I looked at a friends F850GA recently.  It had a semi-circular 'plate' attached to the forks near the lower yolk (triple tree) presumably to reduce wind and/or road noise going up through the gap in front of the tank.

I want to make a similar system for my R1250RT but can't find out whether this is a standard OEM item or an after-market accessory.  I took some photographs from underneath of what may have been a part number on the item but they weren't clear enough to read.  My dealer doesn't have a F850GS/GSA in stock and wasn't able to help.

Any ideas of how to identify the item, please

It's called a fork protection plate.  I found it on Max BMW's parts fiche.

Thanks Bruce & David, I'll check the fittings on my RT.
