I have a 2014 wet head 1200RT that I have a new head gasket to put on. Is there a right or wrong side to put it on? It has a BMW part marking on one side, other than that I can't find anything on if it makes any difference or not.
thanks!!!!

Re: head gasket
Is the new head gasket between the cylinder and head or head and valve cover. If the latter, this video at 13:46 BMW R1200RT/GS wethead valve check procedure and spark plug change - YouTube shows what looks like the part marking facing towards the cylinder head when fitted to the valve cover.

Re: head gasket
The cylinder head gaskets are packaged as left or right. Can the gasket actually be fitted with the part marking up or down.

Re: head gasket
The two parts circled are different so it can only go one way
