2011 R1200RT Workshop Service Manual

Post by Marvin2Shoes »

Has anyone managed to obtain a comprehensive workshop service manual for a 2011 model, preferably with complete electric diagrams as well as fully-fledged engine & gearbox servicing information?
Do these manuals cover 2007 to 2012?
I have been told the Clymer workshop manual is very good. Any first hand experiences out there?

I attempted to get a manual through tradebit website... I ended up downloading a 5GB file which contained "Repair and service data BMW Motorrad Edition 092016". I scanned for nasties before I ran the BMW app. I can't find any workshop manual in it.
Is this a scam website? Reviews I read said it is a legit provider of service manuals... of course the reviews may be dodgy too.

The RSD as its also known isn't a bad source of info but it doesn't have a manual as such it just lists procedure's etc

Thankyou for that info. I'm finding it difficult to get a hold of a workshop manual. I will attempt to order the cd from BMW this week.

I purchased the CD from Canada... It will take a while to arrive. It's strange that the oilhead, hexhead and wethead manuals are easily obtained in Australia but the camhead is only available in US, Canada and UK.
The 'refurbished' hardcopy manual for $450+ is an odd option.
The CD doesn't show up in the ebay app when searching for workshop manual... repROM is the needed search word apparently.
Many thanks for your very helpful links.

Well I finally got home and looked at the CD from Canada... there is no service manual on it at all.
The only manuals for a camhead I can find are second-hand on ebay and cost in excess of AU$400 (£223.88 or €258.49).

Since Clymer no longer seems to exist, Haynes may be the only option left. Ordered, we'll see if it is up to par soon.

Well it arrived... Pretty reasonable quality compared to the reviews I've read. Apparently it is no longer in "Full" colour ;)
I don't know what has happened to the photo... It is fine this end.
