Have you volunteered? Long weekend sound good if right location. Lake district, Devon, scotish borders, dales all have lots of options for riding. Restricted for two weeks 14th to 28th july.

Yeah happy to consider europe would be nice to meet some European members. To be fair volunteering is not a necessary requirement it depends on whos lap the esteemed Sim dumps it on.

He has now! I'm pretty much open to any time, any place, anywhere. Just call me Martini :-D It would be good to get all the usuals in attendance though. As for European members? that would be good. If we stay next to a river we might also get Steiner mooring up in his tug for a night on the craic with the lads?
The GS 'is' the better bike :-)

Before we left from the 2022 meet at Hereford, I thought MikeS had (been) volunteered to organise the 2023 meet.

After I was nominated this year I suggested Dumfries/ Ayrshire, when I got home looked at a very crude route (needs a lot of fine tuning) from Dumfries.
Looked up the Premier Inn and is reasonable if booked well in advance.

However, if Michael (or whoever) wants to plan a European trip I would happy to join that and nominate myself for the 2024 meet.

Super.
I know it's early but can everybody have a think about if they are happy with the proposed route and which dates suit.
As a starting point I'm going to suggest July 14th,15th,16th or the following week 21st, 22nd, 23rd (two nights stay). These fit in with Darren's availability and Simbo seems pretty flexible.
If we can come to an agreement early then we should get a reasonable price at the Premier Inn.

Nice one Mike, thank you. Dumfries & Galloway looks just fine to me. The route takes in some nice coastal and inland scenic sections.

To avoid disappointment and potential price rises, I've booked the Premier Inn at £180 for the Flex rate.

David you beat me to it. I've canvassed option on the date. Would the week after suit you as well? Easy to change booking if it does.
However, I'll take that as Darren, , Simbo , you and me can do the 14th,15th and 16th. That week is better because the Premier Inn jumps up to 235 quid the week after.

Hi Mike, I've booked Friday 14th July for 2 nights.

I could do the following week but a price rise of £55 is quite steep. That's a lot of beer money for those who want it!

Once the dates are agreed, I'll advise Markus accordingly, even if he does ride a GS.

Let's see what everybody else comes back with regarding the dates. I agree that it is a significant price increase.

Tim and I should be good for the 14th, 15th and 16th, and have booked the Dumfries PI for the Friday and Saturday. We actually stayed there last year - it was OK.

Thanks for organiging MikeS. It's 'only' 6 hours from home!
