MikeS wrote: Tue Oct 11, 2022 9:22 pm The screenshot was an example of what accomodation was available around that time, together with a proposed route. I based it around dates that I thought people would be available. It was for the group to decide if it was acceptable.

The dates are dictated by people's availability not just price. I'm happy to commit to the 14th July if there's going to be a good turnout, so far we've not heard from the rest of the usual suspects. The previous annual meets have been a success because of the people that attended and the banter, not the price of the accomodation.
Let's make sure that we can get a good turnout, hopefully everybody else can make it.
Myself and quite a few others will be in attendance Mike, we don't rely on weather and prices to decide on whether we turn up or not. :thumb:
The GS 'is' the better bike :-)

Can I propose that someone preferably @MikeS creates a new topic with all the information in that I can pin to the top of the page and you can use this thread for discussion.

That way it's easy to get all the information without searching for it 😁

Right, as we've had 4 confirmations (5 if you include me) for the 14th July then let's set that as the date.
As sakm advised I will start a new thread with details of the route, attendees and accommodation on, leaving this thread free for general discussion.
Hopefully it'll be (nearly) as good as previous years.

Thanks for organising MikeS.

Tim and I rode around the area last year. There are some superb roads up there for sure. One that sticks in my mind is the A708, that runs alongside The Loch of The Lowes. We stopped at the Glen Cafe, which is right on the side of the Loch. I think it may be too far off your planned route, but if not, it's worth a visit.

Agreed, that'll be the road between Selkirk and Moffat, more commonly known by the larger "St Marys Loch" road.

Further along that same road, we also stopped here for afternoon tea. The cafe and facilities were superb.

Please don't think that I'm trying to interfere with your plans MikeS. It wouldn't mind at all if you ignored all of my ramblings.

Looking forward to it already.
