Forum - Facts & Statistics
Being bored, thought I'd have a look around the forum "Board Index" and came up with what I thought were some interesting facts & statistics.
STeinar created the original forum and was therefore the first member in March 2011. One other member registered and account on the same day.
It was July 2014 before a third member joined the forum. After purchasing my latest used 2012 Camhead in October 2014, I signed up in November 2014.
Of those users who display a "flag", there are 20 different countries shown.
Great Britain has 101 users, closely followed by United States of America with 97, app.php/flags
Many thanks to Stu (sakm) for taking over the forum and maintaining what to me is a valuable source of RT model specific information.
Long may it continue.

Re: Forum - Facts & Statistics
I like a good statistic when it comes to things like this!
When I took over the forum I started looking at the stats in the background and to be honest they wasn't great which isn't a jibe at STeinar as it was totally out of his control
Its actually a fault of the old software it was rejecting and blocking a lot of new members and not allowing people to register on the forum
There was hundreds of thousands of rejected accounts for no real reason that the forum was flagging as spam
Also looking on google search console the software was not very search engine friendly! Although it used to be pretty high up in the ranks but google change stuff yet the software developers where getting left behind!
These are the stats for the last 6 months you should be able to see where I took over
The old software was not very friendly for google search and I would have preferred to stick with it and update it to the latest version and bring it back to life. But sadly it was so restrictive in the background and would not update to the latest version no matter how hard I tried! it was either change it and move forward or stay and possibly sink
I personally think I have made the right choice with the decision as the stats show we have had a grow in usage and visitors and also a grow in new users registering with only around 3 accounts being declined due to spam

Re: Forum - Facts & Statistics
Most of the recent new members showing a flag are from the USA. It won't be long before they are top of the users list.

Re: Forum - Facts & Statistics
When i first tried to join the forum i was rejected due to my email address. Why? havent a clue. I had to make another email address before the system let my in.
Over the years ive had the same problem joining forums using hotmail accounts For some unkown reason they dont like hotmail.com accounts

I don't use anything like that due to the issues it creates

Re: Forum - Facts & Statistics
Just noticed a new member from South Korea, now 24 Flags.
GB are back in front, ahead of USA by 3.
Most other BMW/RT forums which I've viewed do seem to have mainly USA based members.

Re: Forum - Facts & Statistics
Although not a new member, I'm guessing that Switzerland is the latest flag to be waved, now 26.

Re: Forum - Facts & Statistics
Good to see the forum building, lets not forget this bike is still relatively niche, and getting better all the time, and as a specific bike it will never have the pull of a manufacturers forum like BMW

Re: Forum - Facts & Statistics
AFAIK, this is the only R1200/1250RT model specific forum. When looking for info., other R model forums like GS, R & RS are helpful. It would be good to make this the "go to" forum for RT's.

Re: Forum - Facts & Statistics
I think to do that I would have to split it up in to model specific sections too
The worry with that is you then end up segregating members

Re: Forum - Facts & Statistics
Hi Stu, this was discussed before you took over the forum, viewtopic.php?t=5815&hilit=1200%2F1250
Including, Bike Model and Year: in forum profile and threads should do the trick.
