R1200RT - Dangling electrical wire?

Post by tngarren »

2016 R1200RT. I found this electrical component hanging in the fairing, near the front forks, above the front fender. Does anyone recognize it, what it does, or proper placement? Image attached. Thanks in advance.

Looks like it is the ambient air temperature sensor.

Yep, as David described. It gets knocked/falls out easily. Push in hole and half turn to lock.
