Do you think these may work?

Post by Doctor T »

Found these on that selling site. I would like to move my footpegs down a bit without paying an arm and leg. Found these that seem to sell as a universal lowering kit. Do you think these may fit?

I've just bought a set of Far East copies of a certain well known German BMW accessories manufacturers footrest lowering kit for my RT. At literally 1/3rd of the price I though they were worth a punt. The arrived last weekend, come with all the brackets & screws the German ones do and certainly look the part but I haven't fitted then yet (primarily because it's bloody freezing and my garage isn't heated), but will report on progress later.

Well they look decent and get good reviews, do you think ground clearance may become an issue?

Difficult to say but I put a similar footpeg lowering kit on my F800GT and that didn't cause any problems. I've never grounded anything on my RT, (nor did I on my GT) but that could be because I've had a whole 1mm of clearance, or several inches of it. Either way if Wunderlich have had the original TUV approved and these are faithful copies, which they appear to be, then they shouldn't be a cause for concern this side of the track.

With the price of these parts what have you got lose ? if they are rubbish you have only forked out £59.00 instead of probably three times that with the major suppliers .I,m sure i,m like yourself and countless others who do not mind paying but do,nt like getting ripped off.

Sorry, this thread went by without me noticing.

I bought mine off Amazon for just under £60, they arrived in good time and were visually identical in all ways with the Wunderlich offering. I did start a post of these here -

They’ve now been on for just over a year with absolutely no problems although I have dragged them on roundabouts 2-up (and got told off for it) when I forgot my wife was on the back! In general sensible mode and when I act my age, not my shoe size, it doesn’t really happen.

Any issues with the brake pedal height? Mine arrived within 2 weeks from Ali Express and just waiting for a warmer day to fit them.

The wonky rectangular-ish plate drops the brake lever down. You’ll find how it does so when you fit it.

It’s always a worry when you have bits left over 😳 watched the Wunderlich video a few times and can’t see them using that long bolt at all.

I thought I used it but I can’t remember exactly where as it’s been a year since I fitted it. I even, in the cruel weather, got on my hands and knees in the (unheated) garage to have a look… nope, so the mystery remains!
