Do the Tubular Handlebars Change the RT Riding Position?
Re: Do the Tubular Handlebars Change the RT Riding Position?
Thank you to everyone that commented and added information. I still am not sure whether to include them in my order though.

Spot the difference, Chinese (top) vs Ilium Works (bottom).

How about the standard cast bars and a pair of these, https://www.shopbmwmotorcycle.com/produ ... bar-risers
"44.5mm Taller and 50mm Wider (compared to original position), these are the true measurements taken at the wrist position."

Just been playing on configurator and when you select tubular handlebars the image shows grips in same position as standard bars from all angles.
Appreciate only for illustration but pretty acurate on other aspects.Enjoy your morning David looking at what could be.

Left click on images to enlarge.
I agree with Darren (BoB21), looking at the bars in relation to the mirrors and the reservoirs either side of the TFT screen, they appear to be in the same positions.

Think the bar end weight might be a fraction shorter but only difference from overhead and 360 views that i could see. Tempted David?

Think you could be right Darren, look at the bar end in relationship with the ball end of the clutch & brake levers. Perhaps the tubular bars need less end weight which would seem practical.
But when comparing the end of the grips, they look the same in relation to where the clutch & brake levers are notched to break in a fall. Making the grips the same width apart.

With the tubular bars you have a wider scope of fitting aftermarket bars and raisers

Another reason folks may fit the tubular bars is, it'll be easier to add "Farkles".
Re: Do the Tubular Handlebars Change the RT Riding Position?
Has anyone found risers that work on a R1250RT with tubular handlebars? All the searches l have completed only show risers for the 'standard' handlebars. I guess risers that fit the GS would work, but maybe not. I wonder how much the bars can be lifted without having to modify brake lines and/or electrical wiring?

Found this thread on BMWLT, https://www.bmwlt.com/threads/2021-r125 ... rk.192524/
This bike is fitted with bar risers from VMT, https://voigt-mt.de/BMW-R-1250-RT-21_1
From the photo, they look like this version, https://voigt-mt.de/Handlebar-risers-wi ... -handlebar which have an offset 30mm up and 24mm closer.
"No modification to the vehicle necessary"
Re: Do the Tubular Handlebars Change the RT Riding Position?
Wow thank you David as I did not find the risers in my searches!! I just updated my order with the dealer for my 2023 build and added the tubular handlebars. To be honest I actually prefer the look of the tubular 'bars and if down road I need/want risers it is much easier and better looking then standard handlebar risers.
Thanks to everyone again,
