I am Screwless
Happy New Year to all.
Working on Bike over Holiday. Pulled off all of the tupperware. Placed all fastners in a zip lock bag....the wife put the bag in the trash.
I need all of the torx screws that hold on the fairings......is there a kit? I saw some alibab kit but I have never ordered from alibaba.....
Stuck on the Island and there is no one that sells the right screws. R1200RT 2013.

Hi and welcome to the forum
What a nightmare you have here!
You could try ebay as sometimes you get a breaker selling all the nuts and bolts from splitting a bike
Otherwise I suspect it will be an expensive order to bmw

Is this just the main front upper (x2) and lower (x2) fairing panels.Scaramouche wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 10:04 pmPulled off all of the tupperware. I need all of the torx screws that hold on the fairings.
I've currently got those panels off my bike and will look at what screws are required.
#2 M5 x 25mm (4 off).
#4 M5 x 16mm (2 off). Mine are M5 x 12mm.
#5 M5 x 16mm (Left 8 off & Right 12 off)
#9 is described as a lock, part # 51 71 1 916 197 from BMW.
#9 M5 x 16 (x8 for L & R)
In the UK, I would use Stig Fasteners, https://a2stainless.co.uk/ and replace them with Flanged Socket Button Screws which have a hex socket rather than torx.
M5 x 25mm (x4), https://a2stainless.co.uk/product/m5-x- ... -7380f-a2/
M5 x 16mm (x30), https://a2stainless.co.uk/product/m5-x- ... -7380f-a2/
M5 x 12mm (x2), https://a2stainless.co.uk/product/m5-x- ... -7380f-a2/
(These would replace 2 of the M5 x 16mm for what I call the glove box lid).
After all that, Stig Fasteners may not ship outside of the UK but may be worth contacting Mark Pinkney, sales@a2stainless.com

How about this from Hornig.Scaramouche wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 10:04 pmI need all of the torx screws that hold on the fairings, is there a kit.
M5 x 16 (30 off), https://www.motorcycleparts-hornig.com/ ... crews.html
That would do the job, just need M5 x 25 (4 off) even if you had to get these from BMW, part # 63 13 7 655 661.
Hornig ship to Puerto Rico, but expensive.

Or Motorworks at £1.22 each, https://www.motorworks.co.uk/trim-panel ... 212-3.html
Motorworks do an M5 x 25mm button head screw, https://www.motorworks.co.uk/m5x25-sock ... 046-1.html
which would work with some washers, https://www.motorworks.co.uk/m5-washer-ssa32098-1.html
Looks like Motorworks do ship worldwide.

I wonder if Max BMW will ship to Puerto Rico, https://www.maxbmw.com/parts-departmentScaramouche wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 10:04 pmStuck on the Island and there is no one that sells the right screws.
"Free ground shipping to continental US addresses only," but might be worth asking the question.

Re: I am Screwless
Hi and welcome
I see from your signature that you have the 2103 model. They are very hard to get spares for yet
Good luck with your sourcing. Sounds like a challenge being where you are.

Re: I am Screwless
Found a thread on BMWSportTouring which suggested Albany County Fasteners. I think this is what they are referring to, https://www.albanycountyfasteners.com/M ... 99-008.htm pan head and would need washers.
Another suggestion was a seller called Didibandit on German eBay who usually stocks full stainless steel fastener kits for BMW's.

Re: I am Screwless
Just an observation but don't forget that the OEM (M5 x 16mm) fairing screws have a tapered point to help start the thread.
Shouldn't be a problem without but more care will probably be required.

The one reason i only let the wife into the garage is when the front bulbs need changing.
Trust me I am a retired Doctor and lecturer at Oxford University of Structural and Mechanical/Electrical engineering.

Re: I am Screwless
Amazon UK certainly sell fairing bolts kits so I'm assuming they'll also be available in other countries.
