Starting from the top is the tool for locking the cylinders in either TDC or BDC

Middle is the cam chain tensioning tool which is used in conjunction with the bottom one which is the alignment jig

The alignment jig is used for locking the cams in time with each other after you have found TDC and tensioned the cam chain to the correct spec :thumb:

Yes on both sides

Only a touch but its enough

These bikes are known for them to go slightly out of time

It's probably due to the cam chain wearing or stretching slightly with use

I’ve had the tools on order since late December, it’s now going to be April before the 1250 cam jig and the cam chain tensioner are available!

Cam alignment tool (jig) for R1200 versus R1250 is different, the supplier links are appreciated but appear to be for R1250, the first link is legit, all vendors are guessing at this time, the second link seems like a scam, try calling and see for yourself...this thread BTW is for R1200, just saying.

Check out Boxflyer on some other BMW forums. He has/makes the tools for cam alignment for 1200 and 1250 motors. Has videos on Youtube showing you how too.
