That's how I feel when I ride on either of my Harleys after a spin on RT.

Re: What did you do today?
"And now for something completely different."
My GSX1100EF has a bit of cracks on front end dust seals and the whole front end is rather soft and tired.
So I was looking at springs and what else was needed when my buddy since early 70's called from dealer informing that he has an alternative solution: a full NOS front end which has been sitting on warehouse shelf for the past 35 years or so.
Price difference was minor so of course I chose that.

Re: What did you do today?
I did something really terrible today. I washed my bike . Then even worse i polished it. I know this is going against the code of being a BMW motorcyclist but i am willing to take any punishment that may be apon me by the higher powers. I hereby promise not to do this again to any BMW bike that may have the misfortune to own from and every.

Re: What did you do today?
I was working on my GS (the Japanese one) doing various stuff as it has been sitting in the previous owner's garage for the past five years.
Five year old gas smells really bad.
And then I ran onto this.

Re: What did you do today?
Meet a nice chap at Whiteways cafe yesterday. He told me the garage he usually uses is really busy. He said he had the parts in his top box and his front wheel bearing really needed doing. After an hour or so chat, i told him if he is really in a rush i can change them for him.
Anyway, he turned up at my home this morning. Within an hour i had changed his bearings and seals. They were rusty and gritty. After another cup of Tea, he passed me an envelope. Taking in mind never mentioned that i would charge him. He rode off happy and after i put my tools away. I looked inside the envelope and found a note and some money. It said this is the price my mechanic was going to charge me and a big thank you. So am £120 better off and may have found a tour companion.
