SAFETY RECALLS & TECHNICAL ENHANCEMENTS

Post by David. »

Use this BMW Motorrad link to check the status of your vehicle, https://www.bmw-motorrad.co.uk/en/servi ... ookup.html

If you find a Recall or Technical Enhancement on your bike, why not post it here for all to see.

This GOV.UK link allows you to check for recalls, https://www.check-vehicle-recalls.servi ... 1672244913

Choose a Make and scroll down to BMW Motorrad.

The problem is, this recall hasn't been posted yet on the DVSA website. I put the 3 reg of our fleet bikes in and it shows no recalls. Yet BMW have issued the recall against our civilian RT 1250s directly. So possibly they are doing the Arduous duty bikes first, or the site isn't up to date.

Got this today and for the RTs it says Police models.

Looks like the same recall, our RTs are civilian spec, but are blood bikes, so on the arduous duty register, so might be like the shaft recall for GS and RTps, our 1250 RTs were also done and new shafts fitted.

Must be a browser thing. I'm using Safari and I don't get the enter vin box. All I see is the explanation of what the VIN is

The BMW Motorrad link worked for this GS owner but not on the GOV.UK site. Clearly not the better bike.

The Enhancement Code is the swingarm drain valve.

I had the same issue on an iPhone (safari, edge and Firefox) so fired up my laptop. R1200RT LC 2014, no recalls.
