I just returned from a ride with my phone speedometer app running on my '23 RT.
Speedometer App speed indicated = 50 MPH / TFT = 53MPH
60 MPH / TFT = 63MPH
70 MPH / TFT = 73MPH
80 MPH / TFT = 83MPH
I was consistently 3 MPH below what BMW had programmed into the TFT speed, FYI. (your results may vary, lol)

Re: Speedometer Error on my '23 RT
This must have been a fluke that the speedometer (76 MPH), Nav5, and the App all read almost the same 75 MPH on my 2020 RT.

You won't find many speedos that are calibrated spot on. IRC Manufacturers are allowed a 5% tolerance, i think it used to be 10%. Also, how do you know the App is spot on?.
My 07 reads 3 MPH more like yours.

I'm not 100% sure of anything, but the Nav5 (GPS signal), and the app (GPS and cell towers) are the same speed, so I would say the app is a pretty good indicator too.

Re: Speedometer Error on my '23 RT
Compared to my ST1300 which can be as much as 10% low the 1250RT does quite well to be only 4-5% off. This universal and OEM inbuilt variation in speedo accuracy is the principal reason I always install and ride to a standalone GPS unit display regardless of the level of bike tech on offer.
I recently completed ROSPA and IAM and my examiner told me to ride to my GPS display during the tests rather than the ST which is one of the bikes he used to ride in the job.
A glance at the two during the test highlighted that the ST speedo reacted quickly to heavy acceleration but also that the GPS while a bitty slower off the mark, was consistently way more accurate (and despite being a stickler for detail he didn't fail me for a moving traffic offence of speeding so it must've been all good despite the ST saying I should be booked)!
