Back to BMW

Post by allmeads »

Hi all. Years ago I owned an RT and then migrated to HD. And while I enjoyed my last HD StreetGlide, after years of riding, and reaching into my 60's, I started to feel like the HD was simply too much bike; probably 200 lbs.+ heavier than the RT, 6" longer wheelbase and with much of the weight well above the center line of the bike. That all conspired to make me feel less sure about low speed maneuvers. So, I sold my StreetGlide and ordered my RT in white with tubular bars and the brown seat. Hope to take delivery in roughly 8 weeks. And then off with friends for a 7 day ride from the Boston area down to the Tail of the Dragon. Looking forward to my new bike and for ideas and suggestions from this forum.
