Nearly there

Post by Batfastard »

Hi. Wee 2005 RT1200 i have been working on over Christmas is nearly the way i want it. Only issue i have is the side panniers seem very loose when fitted. Looking at this parts diagram i see the piece, number 23 is missing from my cases. Can anyone show me exactly where this bit goes. Thanks in advance :thumb:

Isn't 23 the extending foot that moves to push onto the bottom bike pannier support when you close the handles down? I guess the panier would be loose without that bit  sorry I don't have a picture but can sort one tomorrow with luck as the 05-09 same as 10-13 I think...

This video shows a side box being removed from the bike. When removed, the location of part #23 can be seen with the locking mechanism retracted.

So it looks like it slides down past the locking mechanism. Will give that a try. Thanks

I think the idea is that #23 can be purchased in different sizes to adjust the fit of the side box.

Yes, I would agree with you. The original ones could be the thinnest.
