Rear bevel oil

Post by Doctor T »

Just serviced my 07. All fluids except the brake and clutch as i changed them last March.
Old age must be setting in because i can't remember how much oil the rear drive bevel takes. I think it's something like 80Ml and the same oil as the gearbox. The oil looks quite clean seeing ive clocked up 13000 miles since last March, just needs replenishing now.

The Haynes manual for a Hexhead doesn't give a FD oil capacity because at the time, it was changed at 600 miles then in for life.

For a Camhead, it's 180 ml, it'll likely be the same for a Hexhead.

The original spec. gearbox oil for a Hexhead was SAE 90 and the FD was the fancy 75W-90.

This 2007 Hexhead doesn't have separate drain & filler plugs, (Camheads do).
