Intro-hey guys
Hello all! My name is Wes, currently have a k bike, and last night picked up a 2007 r1200rt. It has been downed a couple times, has a cracked valve cover, and both mirrors are broken. So I am going to fix her up! I like modifying bikes to slim them down, but this one looks like a challenge. Looking for ideas, good chats and entertainment out of this site. Thanks for having me, looking forward to a good time

Not sure yet, I still have to replace the valve cover, fire it up and assess the situation. I have this dream of making sheet metal coverings, and making a cafe racer out of it! Especially if it gets too pricey to bring it back to a good stock condition.

Welcome. I bought my 07 as a trade sale bike. So i had bits and pieces to do. Aliexpress you can get a pair of complete mirrors and housings for £117 GBP. My valve covers are marked by a couple of slowdowns. I just bought a pair of covers from eBay. They are a copy of BMW standard covers for £34 GBP. Sold as copies but had the BMW stamp and part numbers on them.
