Ok just watch a few videos and 2 of the stated PR2 stopped production. Could they have just stopped selling them in certain counties?

So i can fit standard Roadsmart 11?. No GT is available. Ive currently have 5 tyres on my buy list at the moment. So adding the RS11 may jump on the list.

I've got a list of the BMW tyre options for a Camhead from 2010. The Dunlop RoadSmart I is one of them which I used and have now got RoadSmart II's.

i usually go by the weight the tyre can take i:e 73w for the rear and 58w for the front.

All the tyres will have the same load ratings, IMO, that is why fitting GT's etc. may not be necessary. I've used tyres without version codes and not experienced any problems.

Rode yesterday for the first time in the wet on the new for this season Dunlop RoadSmart II's without any problems.

The other bikes in the group had Michelin Pilot Road 2's and Michelin Road 6's, (2 bikes).

We all rode together at the same pace in the same conditions. Therefore, my conclusion is all three tyres are as good as each other in the wet.

There's one slight difference. I was running the Pilot 2's which have just over 10k miles on them

Seriously though. I don't think there are any particular bad tyre's for bikes. Just riders who have no confidence in their tyre's, especially when you throw a bit of rain into the mix.

it won't make any difference Doctor. I've used Pilot Road 2's,3's,4's,5gt's. I usually get around 10 to 11k miles out of a pair of tyres no matter what model. The Road 6's on my GS are wearing very well at 6k though, unfortunately I won't find out how far they go as I'm getting a new GS on Saturday

I know someone who had Michelin Road 6's fitted by a BMW dealer. Their recommendation was GT for the rear only, standard tyre on the front. This is not an unusual situation, was the same when I used Metzeler Z6's, only the rear had a version code.

I wouldnt think it would make any diffrence to longevity but will make a diffrence in the event of a puncture which may mean diffrence between staying upright.

Am not sure about that as GT tyres only have stiffer sidewalls.
I do think squaring off a pair of tyres at 5000 miles is a joke. The same tyres on my old Triumph Tiger 1050 lasted 7000 miles and i rode that like a sports bike and wore them right down to the markers where i have loads of tread left on the BMW tyres but they are square
