Heed engine bars

Post by Stu »

Took delivery of my heed engine bars today which took 6 days to be delivered from Poland

Ordered them late friday so missed the post until Monday so in reality it was as if I placed the order on Monday so pretty good service really

I went to fit the fronts tonight and the first thing I discovered is they don't actually fit

Loads of shoving and poking led me to swapping the black widow downpipes for the standard ones the then find they fit

So I can confirm that Heed engine bars do not fit with black widow downpipes! which is a shame! I could probably fettle the bottom plate of the heed bars but that would mean getting them powder coated afterwards so for now the OE downpipes are back on until I decide what to do

The bars are pretty well made and fairly easy to fit hopefully I never need to test them

Thanks - I have a set I got a few weeks ago but haven’t had a chance to install them yet. Without the pipe problem, how long would you estimate it too to install them?

Taking your time you can easily do it in an hour to an hour and half max

And they are easily removable by 3 bolts for when I don't have the luggage with me :-D

The blackwidow pipes seem to come in a little bit more than stock as they come under the bike we are talking by about 10mm if that!

Once winter comes I will get the bike on the ramp and have a good look to see if I can make them fit if not I will just take a touch out the bash plate and get it powder coated again
