Route for the Dumfries trip. Still tweaking it so not the final draft but just to have a look at. If any of the basecamp gurus see any glaring errors let me know.

ayrshire.gpx
(182.83 KiB) Downloaded 354 times

Created on MyRoute App and Ive opened it on basecamp (seems Ok as long as fastest route is the default setting). Don't understand why the waypoints don't appear on the map in basecamp.

Just under 5 hours and a fraction over 230 miles.

Coffee stop at 2 hours in (David's Snack Bar , so no seats) and petrol at 137 miles. Need to think about a lunch stop (unless you don't want one).

Hi Mike, I've imported the .gpx file into BaseCamp and created a route from the track.

It's come up with the same 230 miles in a riding time of 4 hours 40 minutes.

Could be because the waypoints are actually shaping points which don't show on the map.

Same mileage but different time. Is that real time? As in allowing for current traffic conditions.

Found David's Snack Bar (near Girvan) and had a go at creating two linear routes from the .gpx track provided.

The mileage of 230 is still the same but the time is now 4 hr 52 min.
