Hello all. I have always been happy using my I-phone with google maps on my K1200GT. My recently purchased 2018 RT came with the Nav VI unit. What are the advantages, if any, to using the Nav VI rather than my I-phone and google maps (which lets me pin drop a route). Thanks for your input.

Keep using Google if your happy with it, it's a better system, but not as neat if the Nav can be fitted into the bike. The other downside is using your own data, and having cables attached if riding all day. You also have some control of the inbuilt Nav while riding, at least you do on a K1600, but I'm not sure if it's the same on the older RT, you don't have that with Google maps
