Final drive centre hole bung and heat ?
So I bought this half decent looking rear axle plug a while ago, I think it looks neat but I noticed today after a ride out that touching the final drive casing it was pretty hot, I could keep my hand on it but any hotter and I wouldn't have.
Do you think that blocking the hole both sides is causing more heat build up ?. I've seen bungs with slots in but then water will sit in there I think.
Any ideas how hot these FD casings get normally ?.
Thanks.

I was going to get one with holes, inffact they were machined slots that created cooling when spinning, only issue I can see is water sitting in there after washing or rain ?burridge01 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 8:08 am I'm not currently using one but after seeing this post I've ordered 1 fron China with holes in it so it don't get to hot in there

Knackers,I've been diddled.£17.99 opening gambit to draw you in with all the fanfare, then in all the excitement it's £21.49.Half a mind to send it back, till you look at the as good as identical, minus the centre sticker price on NN's,over 90 notes I'll quietly attach to the bike and only slightly smirk when I look at it

, that looks like it may allow the wheel to be taken off without removing it ?.burridge01 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2023 6:01 am Good man, stand ya ground and don't get dragged into all this under priced hoo-haa

No,it will have to come off.I used a drop of loctite so hopefully it will come out ok,seems robust enough so not overly worried.
