What is the maximum # of waypoints that a corrected connected TFT/cell phone/BMW Motorrad can handle?
I see that on a 1250 GS the Navigation VI manual states that the unit can hold 29 waypoints and the final destination. I am hoping the RT handles more.
Waypoint Limit?
Re: Waypoint Limit?
I've used the app quite a bit now and know the answer. The "Connected" app can handle a total of 50 points; i.e., the Start, the End, and 48 waypoints in between.
I know 50 points are a lot, but if you are leading a group ride on a day trip and you want to make sure your GPS takes you exactly the way you want to go, it's not hard to exceed 50, so you would need to make legs of less than 51 waypoints. Also, faithfully following Route 66 in some sections will take more than 50 waypoints a day.

Re: Waypoint Limit?
I confess that I don’t know what shaping points are. Is that where you indicate no toll roads, use fastest route, etc.?
I will Google it; thanks.

Re: Waypoint Limit?
I just Googled it. Are shaping points just a Garmin thing? I think I saw that Garmin allowed about 125 shaping points per route.
What’s the difference between a shaping point and a waypoint?
Now I’m really confused.

Re: Waypoint Limit?
A shaping point is a point you use to shape the route and its not too much of a drama if you miss it
A waypoint is a must visit place and it cannot be missed
