Newcomer from Cheshie

Post by Gareth1962 »

Finally got round to this bit! Finally back on bikes after 27 years out due to bike accident. Got a 2nd hand 1200RT in Nov last year, loved it that much, and got my current R1250RT in May this year ( 2 yes old) Did just over 4,000 miles in June on a tour down through France to the Picos and back through the Alps - 2 up and with camping gear!! Absolutely brill and no issues. Like to jump in at the deep end!
Have been following the forum for tips etc and looking forward to the future!

Hi and welcome,

Recently joined myself. our stories sound similar, except for the accident. I had over 30 years off due to life. Me and my friend, of well over 40 years, rode down through France and over the Picos, then went to Portugal, through southern Spain up to Andorra then back through France. 4025 miles in 15 days. Hope you enjoyed your trip as much as we did.
Done on an R1200RS which has now been exchanged for a 2020 1250 RT LE.
Once again welcome

Welcome guys, that trip is a regular on here, I've done it several times, but not on my latest R1250RT, it's a great way to get abroad and see the sights while avoiding a lengthy trip through France
