Hello. My 1990 K100 is having some TLC after reaching 90k. So I ventured to the R side of BMW. At least until the K is back together...
Guess I may need help along the way as this is a different beast. I now know what having good brakes means...
90th anniversary model.
Regards
Neil.

Re: From the dark side...
I too travelled from the world of the k100. My 1987 k100 LT was a great bike, had two.
The heat from the tank was lovely in winter, but the biggest improvement was modern braking. Twin pot Brembo brakes on my 15 plate are astonishing.

Re: From the dark side...
I too have come over from a couple K's via a R1150Rt which proved to be an unreliable machine and a Honda which was great until age and physical ability got the better of me and it became too heavy to manoeuvre. I had a K100LT which was rear ended and written off hen a K1100LT which I ran for approx 13 years, did some great tours round Europe on it and agree with the heat issue which came to a head in the Alps where it caused the fuel to boil in the tank. Lesson learned, if going to high altitudes make sure you have a full tank.
Still have quite a few spare parts for the K in the garage !

Welcome to our site. Biggest biking regret was selling my K75
