Key Fob Programing to bike

Post by EasyRider »

Can you have more than one key fob programed to the RT.
Is it only BMW dealers who can program the fob to the bike.

Yes, you can have as many as you want. A new fob from BMW is around £200 (saw on another forum last week)and they programme it. I bought an extra one in 2019 for around £150, but the dealer couldn't get it to work, so I returned it and got my money back.

I have two for our keyless bike, my wife keeping the spare because I’m notorious with putting my key ‘somewhere safe’, never to be seen again!

My local dealer paired the spare in about a minute.

However, If you’re going to carry both on the bike, as we do on tour, then put it in a Faraday case to prevent the bike getting confused.
