Re: Which Baglux tank bag fits the RT?
I used an expandable Baglux bag on this trip, it was good for the amount of crap it’s capable of carrying as Debs can confirm.. “Can you just put this in the tank bag? And this, and…”
The big pain was that it hit the (very loud) horn button on L/H lock.
You’re welcome to try it if you like, I’ll stick it in the post.
Here’s a pic, enlarge it if you can

Steve, that is a very generous offer but looking at it sat on the tank it looks to big.I only want 12/15litre max.I wouldn't be bothering but the bar bag doesn't fit with the Illium bar risers.Ill keep looking, something may turn up

I bit the bullet and bought the Adventur tabs bag
Sits lovely on the tank but is somewhat bigger than I wanted/needed and will hit a button or 2 on full lock.Dare say, like Steve's it will get filled with crap(not hers cos she ain't coming with me ) but it will do.All I need now is a smallish rollbag for me waterproofs and me crutch

Re: Which Baglux tank bag fits the RT?
The bags a disaster. Was doing a slow right turn on virtually full lock and the kill switch made contact with the bag,it was so sudden I couldn't get me leg down to prevent the inevitable. Down we went, thank feck I'd put all the Heed bars on and changed the levers or I'd have a buggered brake lever and case.My first thought was for Dawn, thank god she was ok,then the bike.
Belgium fella stopped and helped me get it back on its feet, only damage was scuffs on the Heed bars
1 thing I have learned, apart from getting shot of the bag.16 plate RT doesn't have the engine cut out angle doubery, unless you have a bagster bag

That’s a real nuisance! Thank god you fitted the bars, a quick touch-up with smooth Hammerite will do the job.
Pleased you’re OK though.

Re: Which Baglux tank bag fits the RT?
Just read this thread. I have been looking for a bagster tank cover to fit my tank bag to.
But the ones i found were from the EU and once VAT was added they were silly money.
So i ended up buying a handlebar bag. Its only small, but it will do for my nic-nacks.
And now seeing that fitting a tank bag can be a problem i dont think i will now.
@burridge01 I'm pleased that you and your wife were not hurt and the bike was not damaged.

Re: Which Baglux tank bag fits the RT?
Strange this thread should raise its head again…
Last year (as posted) I used an Adventure expandable bag, which did the job but was quite honesty too big and also fouled the horn, usually at inappropriate moments. So that one’s out!
Only a few days ago I rescued my Ensign bag from the back end of my mates garage and refitted it on the bike. Dry testing revealed that it doesn’t hit anything - horn nor kill switch - and fits pretty well, giving me good volume for the touring odds and sods like gloves, sun glasses and wallet, without being obscenity huge. So that’s earned its right to come to Greece for a month.
However I’ll still keep the Motech mount on there for my City bag that I use day to day in the UK.
I’ll add a pic of the mounted Ensign tonight…

Re: Which Baglux tank bag fits the RT?
Right, fitted the Ensign tank bag back on the bkke.
Fit isn’t bad, horn and kill switch clusters touch on full lock but not hard enough to activate either. There’s also sufficient room between yourself and the bag when you’re sat on the bike, so it’s the best one so far.
Here’s some pics with a measuring stick to help with dimensions.

Re: Which Baglux tank bag fits the RT?
I can do this better when it’s outside in the sunshine, should that happen anytime before next Christmas! I’ll also fill the bag up so that it’ll give a true representation of distance from the bars and switches.EasyRider wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2024 3:19 pm I have 2 of these bagsters bags that i use on my Hayabusa and Varadero.
