deluxe headlight

Post by EasyRider »

What is the deluxe headlight X0219.
What does it give you over the standerd headlight.
I tried google but did not get anything, just info on the newer headlights.
The headlight on my R1250RT turns the low beam on/off when its dark or light

The build spec for my '18 R1250RT LE spec says it has it as well. I've no idea what's 'Deluxe' about it, it looks like every other pre LED headlight fitted to an RT since the 1200 update in 2014 to me.

I have it on mine and asked the dealer at the time and he just said it’s the angel eyes in it but no idea if that is correct as I thought they all had it?

I could be wrong [more than likely] but I believe the deluxe headlight relates to the beam "moving" to light the road better as you turn. My bike is supposed to have it and I'm not entirely sure that I've noticed it working as I try to avoid riding at night as much as possible [ which is difficult because I work nights] and the the occasional bit of night riding I have done is all covered by streetlamps.

Is Deluxe headlight different than Headlight Pro?

I’m aware that the Angel Eyes LED ring driving lights that I have on my 1200 were an option, and assumed that was the only one. I’d never heard of the Deluxe headlights.

Anyone thought about swapping the headlight for a newer one from the 2022 onwards RT
From what i can see, Its the Headlight loom, Headlight side fairings and the headlight that need changing.
But even if that was all that was needed, I dont think i would do it as it would cost over £1400 to do.
Its around £1000 just for a used Headlight.

Fit more driving lights like the Mods use to do on their Scooters. Then a load of mirrors and tassels on the handlebar ends. Don't forget to wear a WW2 Parker. Problem sorted ;)
