Greetings from SE Iowa! I just purchased a new to me 2009 R1200RT last week. It had 9,000 miles on it and was a one owner bike. The only non-stock features were a Pirates Lair passenger back rest and some highway pegs. The previous owner had installed some Michelin Pilot Road tires on it last year and had only put 300 miles on them. I am coming from riding a 2nd gen Yamaha FJR1300, and was not sure what to expect. I took advantage of the unusually warm weather we were having last week and put a little over 950 miles on her. I was really impressed with the way it handled the twisties as well as the slow parking lot speeds. The heated grips and seat were very nice features, but my favorite by far is the cruise control. I look forward to the many miles to come as well as gleaning from the knowledge of fellow members here. I am thinking about looking for a Sargent front seat, but if any of you have other suggestions, I am all ears!
Thanks,
Rich
