as has already been suggested, checking for any service updates via the VIN No. would be the place to start.
In the BMW LT thread, stalling issues (similar to those described by slowvet), are discussed & if necessary, the replacement Cam Sensor seems to have solved the problem.
After that, routine servicing can be of benefit.

Took your advice and called another bmw dealer service dept and had them run the V.I.N., nothing came up as far as a recall is concerned. However, I talked to a tech and he said basically what you all have said about the cam sensor ring. He also said it could be a bad coil, plug or time for the FI to be cleaned. So, my next step is to have that shop run some diagnostic tests on it. Here we go. Thanks all for the advice to this newb!
