So you have seen i have a couple of bench lifts and some Abba stands.
So i thought i would show you what i use to change my tyres with.
With using this i get no damage to the paintwork or to the wheels or the tyres.
I just need to get the adapter for the RT rear wheel.
I made the bed the wheel rests on out of MDF.
There are no clamps holding the rim of the wheel.
To stop the wheel spinning there is a bar with an old handlebar grip on.
This can be removed as it slides inside a sleeve.
The rim is also sitting on carpet so it does not get marked.
It has taken me some years to get my setup to what best suits me for working on our bikes.
And the one thing i have learnt, I don't lend my tools to anyone.

Re: Tyre Changer
@ Easyrider did you get the rear wheel adapter.... I need to do my rear tyre soon so will need to knock something up on the lathe for this. Will measure accurately when I take the wheel off but want a rough idea of what size of blank I need. Seen some videos using 2" BSP plastic pipe connectors... anyone used these?
Im assuming the 1200 & the 1250 are the same for this.....

Re: Tyre Changer
I have just been doing a bit more reading and the adapter is the right one for the RT with a 62mm hub.
So here is the link for the adapter. The cost is £35 + 4.95 postage, total £39.95
The adapte fit both 62 and 72mm hubs so will also fit the K1600 as well.

The BMW shaft drive adapter with 62/72mm diameter fits the following rims:
K1600 72mm hub
62mm hubs of GS/GSA, K1200, R1200, R1250, R nine T, F800GT, F800 ST/S and some other models.
The original spindle is 20mm and can be used together with the stepped bushing on hubs between 20-32mm.

Re: Tyre Changer
The adapter is here and its the right fit.
It fits bothe the wheels and the 20mm threaded rod on my tyre changer,
So i'm happy with buying it for my RT.

Re: Tyre Changer
Is there anything to prevent the adapter marking the paint on the wheel? Trying to remember what the wheel is like, thinking machined surface on one side but painted on the other. When I fitted my front tyre the last time I had to put a lot of effort into getting the last inch onto the rim
