Sargent seat
Thinking about a custom seat for me for my RT
Is a Sargent seat any good and are they worth the cost.
There not a cheap seat so need to be 100% sure its worth buying.
What are the pro's and con's that members have found with them.
Your thoughts please.

Re: Sargent seat
The UK importer is Calamander I believe, you can send it back if it doesn’t suit you, but from what I’ve heard he (understandably perhaps?) won’t be happy to refund.
Seats are like screens, I’ve always put Sargents on my touring bikes but what suits me may not suit you… they do come up 2nd hand. My mate bought his at a bargain price from a Facebook RT Owners page.

Re: Sargent seat
One of the first things I did on my 2014 RT was to put a set of Sargent heated seats on it. Couldn't stand the bench like quality of the OE.
They take a while to settle in but I wouldn't change them at all. They are now on my 17 RT.
They cost £660 then, a lot of money but well worth it for the comfort in my opinion.

Vini, Vidi, Velcro....... I came, I saw, I stuck around.

Re: Sargent seat
Just ordered one - time will tell what they are like, but the OE seat is pretty poor, so for doing a tour in Europe pretty soon I'm having to go for it

Re: Sargent seat
So i ended up buying a unheated sargent seat as I dont ride the RT in the winter.
It came today and is now fitted. The first thing i noticed was the shape of the seat.
The way it cups you rear and your more in it than on it.
Just need some heavy rain to wash the last of the salt away and then some nice dry days.

Re: Sargent seat
Seriously??? We've had flooding down our way for weeks, and have almost continuous rain forecast for the remainder of the month... and you want more rain!

Re: Sargent seat
I put an unheated Sargents on my ‘16 RT. Has taken around 1000 miles to shape itself to my derrière but it seems to get better with every ride. I hope you have as good a time with yours!

Re: Sargent seat
I am very happy with my Sargent riders seat.
Can some one tell me if the pillion seat is cupped like the riders seat is.

Re: Sargent seat
Tried it out yesterday, only 100 miles, and it was way better then the original, but will need broken in to get better comfort on. I'll be keeping it and persevering as I think it will get better in time, and I can always chuck a sheepskin on it also

Re: Sargent seat
So i got out on the RT today, and it was the first time with the Sargent seat.
I found the seat very comfortable, BUT the sideing on the seat i did not like.
Sliding back and forth, nuts hitting the tank i just did not enjoy the ride.
So i have sent a message to Triboseat covers to see if they have one to fit.
The Sargent seat is 1.5 inches wider than the oem seat so the tribo i have wont fit.
So for the moment i have fitted the oem seat back on the RT.

Re: Sargent seat
I put one of these sort of pads on mine and the pillion seat. Stops sliding and is cooling in the summer. Loads on eBay.EasyRider wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2024 3:02 pm So i got out on the RT today, and it was the first time with the Sargent seat.

Re: Sargent seat
I had a similiar problem with the OEM high seat, sliding about when i was wearing textile trousers.
Bought the triboseat universal seat pad, worked well but just looked a bit shite.
Ended up buying the bike specific cover but unfortunately it doesn't fit the high seat particularly well but looks better.
