XM Antenna
How many people have moved the XM antenna from atop the Dash to another location on the RT? I would like to move that antenna, to the tail of the bike. I would like to put a GPS mount up there above the TFT like someone mentioned using a mount for a RTP. I am not real sure how to 1. remove the current antenna, 2. What is the replacement antenna, where to purchase and how to mount it. I certainly do not want to booger this up!

Re: XM Antenna
I bought this one. Plugged into radio under seat no problem. Mounted on top of saddlebag w/ Dual Lok.

Removed OEM ant. Started w/ this thread:

While not a complete step by step guide, it's helpful. Have anything you intend to mount in the orig. XM ant. location at hand so you can do that while it's apart.
I repurposed a monitor mount I had lying around for a relatively cheap 7" Garmin.
Good luck, take your time. Patience is important in removing/replacing the panels.

Re: XM Antenna
That is what I am looking to do. I have a Mark V GPS from a previous RT, that I would like to mount above the TFT as you have depicted. Somewhere I saw a post that someone had used a mount for the Police version (RTP) and it looked a lot like something from a GS. I am exploring the possibilities. I also am not real pleased with the XM reception through the "Mushroom" Seems to fade out alot. I have had old AM radio's that worked better! LOL
The Connected App is ok except I use my phone for other things (Waze, and phone calls) and with the Connected app active the screen on my phone is blacked out. Plus I always like a back up besides paper!

Re: XM Antenna
I just added a small "puck" antenna (about 1" X 1") to the back pillion section of my 1250RT using double faced tape and an SMB to Fakra adapter. Note you MUST get a PINK Fakra connector as the color indicates the pinout positioning. Unplugged the stock connector from the radio located under the rear seat section, plugged in the new one and bingo no drops! It was $35 total on Amazon and solved all of my dropout issues.
