So i'm going to be lazy and for the moment not look the info up myself.
I love riding my Valadero, but its the top heavy weight of it i am finding harder at slow speeds with pillion.
I thought about getting a GS, but the wife said as it will be our winter hack and she will be pillion, a lower pillion seated bike would be better for her.
So i have said, what about another RT but an older one. Which she is fine with.
So can i ask the members on here, what do i need to look out for on a 2010 to 2013 used RT.
Will be buying private as a better deal can be had. But saying that, there is a dealer in my town with 2 for sale.

I'd just be looking at making sure everything works, electronics especially. If it's a private sale, ask if the final drive shaft has been greased. Both those in the dealer near you aren't the model update ones, so they'll have fuel strips (problematic) rather than the reliable fuel float. You can tell the update models instantly by looking at the forks.
Mines done 50 odd k miles now with zero issues so they're pretty reliable overall. Good luck with your search

The GS 'is' the better bike :-)

Check also that the rear disc carrier has been replaced (usually done under warranty). Early models were alloy, which cracked through the bolt holes.. The updated part is steel. Handlebar switchgear was problematic on some models. I had both sides replaced on my 2011 bike. But again, most should have been changed under warranty. I would expect that later bikes have been sorted.
But, overall, they are a very good bike. Probably the ultimate development of the air/oil cooled RTs, prior to the LC models. I very much enjoyed mine.
As Simbo implies, better to go for a later, update bike if you can find one. There are a few on Autotrader.

Re: 2010-2013 RT
When preparing to buy my patrol bike, I was told to keep my old R1150 if I needed a passenger seat. The salesman said it was a $4,000 bill to change the cop setup into a normal RT.
