Every year since 2010 (Covid excepting) we’ve ridden down to Greece, with a different route or focus each time.
Last year it was a wander down through Italy to Bari via Herculaneum to see the archeological site and lots of bones, a great ride other than high winds and driving rain until we reached Greece!
This year’s all change with a quick way across to Ancona, overnight ferry to Igoumenitsa and onwards to Paleros, where we’re based for a month with various trips out. One of these will be down to the Peleponnese, we visited it last year and thought we’d do a few days enjoying the area.
My wife spends hours researching suitable destinations and somehow found this video, it’s rather long and not in English but worth trudging through…
We contacted the guys to confirm that it could be done without getting into the dirt and gravel, they assured us that’s possible so I found the route on MyrouteApp, it looks like fun!

I hope we’ve got it off to a fine art now as it’s our 13th crossing! The worst was with coach loads of American teenagers who got drunk as quickly as possible and spent the whole night shouting to each other.
We’ve also learnt to always get cabins, I’m way too old to sleep rough.

Yes,when we sailed to Split, we had no idea what deck space actually intailed. We did book a cabin but it was rough to say the least. We ended up on the outer deck, along with god knows how many other travellers, who bunked down everywhere, including pitching tents on the decks It was absolute chaos.Snav, never again.
