Just renewed my insurance for another year. I found everyone quoted higher than last year, some were charging over £100 more. Tried to break It down so i could get European breakdown from someone else, which made it even more expensive. If i wanted basic full comp with £250 ex, i could get it down to £98.58. But that is very basic. The cheapest is not always the best.
Previous insurance was with Bemoto and they told me if i could get a better quote than theirs they would match and drop my excess to £100.
I had trouble finding a like-to-like as Bemoto offered more for the money. Fully comp, clothing inc helmets, accessories, cameras, Euro breakdown inc recovery to my door from anywhere in the EU, lawyer fees, Excess returned if an accident is captured on dash camera(i have F/R cameras already fitted). There are a few other benefits which i cant remember off the top of my head. Total £152.78. That's with 5 years no claim. Would have more no claims but due to an error by OneCall insurance i lost 4 years of no claims. They wouldn't fix their error.
People complain that they can never get through Bemoto but i have always got an answer within 20 seconds.
It's OK to get quotes online from comparison sites but you can get better prices by talking to the insurance broker directly

Just had notification from BMW Motorrad Ins that they’re changing from Devitts to Atlanta, have to confess I’ve not heard of them.

On a similar theme, Breakdown Insurance.

For a Toyota CHR and the 1250RT:- last year £60.65 / This year £91.83
That's a 50% increase!

It seems that Atlanta is part of the Ardonag group who also own Swinton and Carole Nash…

Rang up my insurance company and got it down to £242.43 for my ford fusion. So thats £26.95 saving,
Which is a 23% increase on last years price.
