Noco Booster

Post by EasyRider »

So i have just bought a Noco GBX45 Booster to keep on my RT when i'm out and about. Its for them "just in case" moments.
Got it off ebay for only £67.91 with ebays 20% off offer. Its a remanufactured "A" grade unit and still comes with the standard 12 month warranty. Also bought the Noco eyelet terminal connector to save having to mess with removing the battery cover.

We had one of those moments the other week when my mates F800gs flattened his battery!

Luckily we was stopped outside someone's house who lent us some jump leads!

Once home he ordered the motobatt MBJ-7500 jump starter

Its smaller than my mobile phone 😳

I had the Halfords one, which i still have. It was no good as a booster so i now just use it as a usb back up charger.

So i found out i bought the wrong eyelet connector.
I googled the right one and found it for £26.49, then with my Honey discount i paid £20.13.
Also bought a case for it to, which was the same price after discount £20.13.

So the Noco booster works. When i was up at Abergavenny today there was a guy with a R1250RS who could not start his bike.
He only picked it up yesterday from CMC Newport. So i said to my wife go and ask if its a battery problem, which it was.
So out came the GBX45 and it got his bike going first time. I even had to use my new Torx head screwdrivers as there was no tools on his bike to remove the cover.

Because they were so cheap. I bought 2 Noco GB40 on ebay. Got there 20% off offer.
I also bought 2 hard cases from Halfords.
£110.62 for the 2 Noco GB40's and £32.33 for the 2 hard cases.
With all the discounts i got i saved £36.63
The RRP for the GB40 is £110 each so i got one free at the price i paid. and they still come with the 12 month warranty.
Now the wife can keep one in her car, and i can keep one for mine. Then i can leave the GBX45 on the bike.
I did have a Clarke 4000 Jump starter. But it was 15+ years old and the battery died. It was also bloody heavy to.

LMAO, I just spent another £59.83 on another Noco GBX45.
So we now have one to keep in each of the 3 cars, and one to keep on the bike.
I know its a lot of money, but its worth it for them "just in case moments".
Still keep jump leads in the cars and on the bike to.

Helping that guy yesterday at Abergavenny on his R1250RS has made me think what a great tool to keep with you.

I have one and it works great. The problem is that an RT battery (positive terminal) is excessively difficult to access for just a quick jump. Any ideas to make it easier?? :?:

Mine arrived with a cracked insulation on the negative clamp. I'm onto the seller to see if they'll replace it.

**EDIT"" They've already replied to say that they will post a new set of clamps out 1st class. GREAT SERVICE
