Hi All
The rear dropdown mudguard extender has one fastener, when this is loosened too much it seems to come out of the threaded nut or what ever holds it in place. the the bolt now fails to tighten. what have I done or what can I do please?

Are you doing it the right way round? The 'nut' (No5.) should be visible on the outside with the pan head bolt screwing into it from the back.

It has T25 bolt head on the underside of the guard facing the tyre. The number plate has four fixings, top two (plastic nut and bolt) all accessible, bottom two have no sign of bolts, disappear into the frame of the mudguard. This is a UK 2014 bike.

I took the extender off my 2018 to clean it up when I first got the bike, and remember it being a pain to re-attatch. I’ll have a look tomorrow.

It's an inset nut that sits in a hole shaped the same as the nut to hold it still
The trouble with this is that its a nylock and tends to turn the hold round so doesn't hold the nut and allows it to spin!
I had the issue on mine and had to drill it out to remove it all then replaced it but had to use a new nut heated up and pushed in the the plastic to make it hold

I guess then that the bottom two fixings on the number plate are the same, as I did consider removing the number plate for a look. but as these two fixings also seem to turn and do nothing! The top two fixings have a visible nut. I may well have to drill a new hole, central through the number plate, to secure the extended guard.
