I replaced my battery on my 2016 last year more out of precaution really!

The battery was good but a couple of times I had the bike not turn over and the clocks reset so I thought best to be safe than sorry

Mine does the same if i use the kill switch or stall the bike. Won't start unless i turn the ignition off and on again ( resets the dash presets). BMW tells me the batterys fine but cant identity any fault. Starts faultlessly otherwise.

Always a good indication that your battery’s on its way out, mine was replaced for the same reason.

Ordered this EXIDE ETX20CH-BS last night from Tayna and it was here at 1030! 20 minutes to get old battery out and new one in, another 20 minutes trying to get the battery cover back on. Gave up, there's a strap around it.

The Yuasa (wet flooded) battery on my Yamaha XJ650 is 7 years old.

I detected (or perceived) a slight labor in turning over at startup, so I replaced the battery after 5 years and 35K miles. Stored on a trickle charger during Nov-Mar winter months. No charging during riding season.

9 years on original battery. Use BMW charger probably 3 times a year and no issues to date.

The Yuasa (wet flooded) battery on my Yamaha XJ650 is 7 years old.

This battery is now 7.5 years old, struggled to start the motorcycle today. Have ordered a Powerline battery from Tayna Batteries.

Decided to go for an AGM battery rather than wet flooded, no messing around topping up.

I replaced mine this year, it was the original battery. I suspected it was on the way out a while ago, but my Dutch trip this May forced me to do it. I was at the tunnel waiting to board, queuing in hot weather, didn't want the bike to overheat. It was stop start, got to the train and had to wait so I switched off as engine was getting hot, tried to restart and it wouldn't have it. I was able to paddle the bike on, fortunately I was in the last carriage. Sorted out my booster pack for starting in Calais, just in case, and the bloody thing fired up straight away. If it hadn't started I was going to the local bike shop near the tunnel to get a new one, didn't bother. Never had a problem all the time I was in Holland, returned to the tunnel and was in the holding area and went to the toilet. Tried to start it, wouldn't, missed the train and had to use the booster pack. Staff had called the breakdown, as he arrived I just started it. Put a new battery on and problem solved.

I work on the principle of a new battery every 5 years, same as a new crash helmet… but not on the same pay month!
