Hey Folks,
This is my first post as I just acquired a 2016 r1200rt (after owning an ST1300) and one of the features I was really excited about was the built in navigation. However, my bad for not checking it out fully because after bringing the bike home and taking first 1000 mile trip I realize that the GPS unit isn't getting charged by the cradle (which also means NAV isn't showing up on the bikes menu option). I've cleaned the contacts, charged the GPS and updated the unit to latest firmware. Are there any settings I might be missing? Ideas appreciated before I take into a dealer and have to pay for troubleshooting.
Thanks
GPS not getting power from cradle

Re: GPS not getting power from cradle
Welcome to the forum.
What GPS unit are you using?
Is the cradle connect to any power harness behind it, if so disconnect it and see if there is any power?

Its the Motorad unit that BMW sells (Garmen OEM). I haven't dug behind the dashboard to check the power cable yet, I've been hesitant to dig into it but guess it's time to break the seal :-)
