Last month I bought a 2nd hand RDL seat, it's awesome, very comfortable even giving the base of my back a little support.
The only downside is I have to move forward in the seat when stopping as the thigh support stops the leg from going straight down.

Re: Russell Day Long seat
I've had the same on the last coupe of RDL seats I've had on previous bikes, it's just part of how they spread the weight for better comfort. Your lucky to get a second hand one, especially if it's in the UK, the two way shipping getting a new one in the USA adds about £180 to the price, making them pretty expensive.
Looks good, if you don't get on with it give me a nod

Re: Russell Day Long seat
OK Im interested in a seat like this for my R1200RT...
Are they worth the money for the long ride comfort it provides...?
Thanks for your honest reply here...

Re: Russell Day Long seat
I didn't get this new, so it was made for someone else's measurements/weight, but for me it is extremely comfortable, the dished tractor styling giving support the thighs and on my seat some support for the base of the back.
I have a 31" inside leg, and have to slide forward to reach the ground as the seat shape restricts how far you can move your legs toward the ground, also normally I would have the stock seat set high, the RDL in set low.
I have had my sister-in-law on as pillion (she won't go on my brothers Triumph Tiger 900 Pro) and she says she would be happy there all day.
The pictures below are from RDL, I don't have the back rest, but the rest of the seats look the same, you can see the seat shape better than my photo.
