This morning’s coffee is in the beautiful fishing village of Mytikas, about 12 miles from Palairos. A real switchback of a road with cows and goats wandering around freely, interspaced with many of the oncoming drivers doing much the same!
The harbour’s teeming with nursery fish close in to the quayside which makes a great backdrop to some decent coffee.
However, we do have a problem, the proposed trip to the Peleponnese is now off as there’s a heatwave coming next week threatening temperatures of 42-43c which makes it a definite no-no for us on this trip, although we could adopt the outfits of the local bikers, flipflops, T shirts and shorts?
Maybe not!

A brief 12 mile ride to Mytikas from Palairos for fresh fish and the obligatory coffee. Bought a couple of large mackerel type things for €5 but saw these little beauties for sale on the way back to the bike. The ugly one’s monkfish and the other something from the shark family.
This is what the monkfish looks like before he got skinned and gutted… and there’d be no chance of popping my hand in there to get my hook back!
