"Filters manufactured by Hiflofiltro are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship and to be suitable for the application and use as originally intended by the vehicle OEM Manufacturer."
Just last week I realised that my preferred car parts suppler also supplies many bike parts. I picked up a set of coils for well under half the BMW price and as for that filter:
Just remember it's personal preference on what people want to spend their money on!
A bit like servicing
Some people like to go to a main dealer and some people like to buy their parts and pay someone else to do it and some of us like to do it ourselves.
I have bough "oem quality" parts before which where far from oem quality
Some people like to be safe in the knowledge that the parts they are buying are of the quality standards required and if that means going oem then so be it.
Just pointing out a good value supplier that generally offers a choice of parts - invariably including the original one. If there's one thing I'm sure of it is that BMW don't make air filters (or plugs/coils/oil/pads/discs etc).
I also get that if you have a good relationship with your dealer a nice ride out, a cup of coffee and a chat about bikes can be a more attractive proposition than searching the internet trying to work out who BMW oe suppliers are.

When the bike is a bit older i will do the servicing myself.
But as for parts, All my bike only have OEM service parts fitted.
Bikes are a hobby so i can spend that bit extra on them.
