BMW com U1 pairing help needed

Post by chappers2a »

I have finally taken the plunge and bought a BMW com U1 headset so I can 'retire' my Autocom SPA. I am having a little difficulty in finding the correct pairing order. It has four channels: Phone. Phone 2, GPS and Media. I am not 100% sure how I should pair it. Technology is not my strong point so please be gentle with me! The bike is 2016 RT with FF audio. I wish to pair the bike, Nav 6 and an android phone. Many thanks in anticipation.

Best of luck… I’ve just fitted a Sena 10R to my new helmet and paired my iPhone, my wife’s helmet Sena comms, then the Tomtom.
I was told by Helmet City that they had problems getting the Garmin to work on the Sena, this has also been my mates experience with his 20S in that it cuts speech between us when the Garmin does anything.

Just had a thought...the R1200RT sends Nav 6 instructions through the loudspeakers when in non bluetooth mode so obviously the bike and nav 6 are connecting somewhere in the bike. So I wonder if they are connected in bluetooth mode also? This would mean I may not have to pair helmet to Nav 6. I wonder...? Does anyone know? I will try a test when I get home from work.

My BMW Fit for All (which is a rebadged Sena 10R) works fine if I pair the GPS as a phone, then pair the real phone to the GPS for calls etc.

That way the GPS acts as a hub for calls and nav functions

I've attached the BMW guide, it says K1600GT but the process is the same
