GS1250 top yoke, can be used for RT bar conversion
I picked this up for £60 inc delivery but decided not to go ahead after all, this gs1250 top yoke is a direct fir for the 1250rt, you just need to buy a set of GS handlebars. If you’re interested it’s £45 posted within UK.

apologies, I think Stu is going to try and sort the photo issue today, I've tried amending the post to no avail.

Re: GS1250 top yoke, can be used for RT bar conversion
How did this work out?
I love my used 1200 but want to get a newer 1250. Was thinking of ordering one with GS bars, or converting one. I'm guessing that BMW will announce a 1300RT at EICMA in a couple weeks, and a bunch of newish 1250s are going to be traded in early next year.
Very curious if the bar setup changes the rider triangle that much. I'm used to wider bars, so I find myself with my little fingers almost resting on the RT bar ends, trying to get a wider grip. Having slightly wider bars, a much easier time of mounting accessories, and fine tuning the grip angle is all I'm really after. I don't need the bars to be closer or higher or anything. I'm 5' 6" and I find the stock riding position pretty much perfect.
@EasyRider do you happen to have any pics of your RT next to one with stock bars? @Pazuzu same question if you got that yoke mounted up. Or maybe before and after pics?
Cheers in advance for any more info on how this changes things.

I can’t be 100% certain but I think if you order a new bike specifying bars they won’t be as wide as GS bars.fresh wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 7:53 pm How did this work out?

Re: GS1250 top yoke, can be used for RT bar conversion
This is kind of what I was guessing - that they would be tubular but much closer to the original RT geometry and general dimensions. It's very hard to tell on BMW's site. The bars are certainly different part numbers between the GS and RT.
The RT tubular bars are BMW part number: 32718392389 ($431)
The RT top yoke, which is probably the same or nearly identical as the one in this thread is called a "Uppper Fork Cross Brace With Mount", part: 31428392390 ($950)
There are some other parts to be bought to make the full conversion, but that should help anyone else that's looking.

Did you end up using GS (not RT tubular) bars? Any pics you can share?

I only got this far before deciding to just use the RT original bars.
