So this morning i get myself ready to go for a nice long ride.
Leave the house about 8.40am to go and get fuel.
@ 8.45am i was nearly knocked off by an ASDA Van Driver.
I have it on video which i'm going to send to ASDA Complaints.
It happend so quick i was only able to push the horn to stop him coming right over.
I did not have time to pull the clutch leaver in, so ended up locking the back wheel up and stalling.
The driver did not even attempt to stop, so i went after him.
The first words that came out of his mouth were " sorry, i did not see you"
I asked him why he cut the lane and not stay in his, which he did not reply to.
I then just road off without another word said (i must be getting old).
So tomorrow i will be on the phone to ASDA and ask them to look into this as it could of ended badly.
I will send them both front and rear videos to.
Here are some stills of the video. It may not look that close, but it was and it was only the horn on the bike that made him pull back. you cant even see the white line under the van as he was so far over.
You can also see the skid mark i left on the road...
EDIT.
I used Google earth to see how much he cut into my lane.

It’s a good way to get your heart pumping!
But seriously, you can’t expect him to text his mate, check his next delivery address, sing along to Spotify on his phone, AND look out for you as well can you?
And anyway, you weren’t there yesterday…
PS - Pleased it was only a close one matey, take care

Re: ASDA Drivers
So i popped into my local ASDA this morning and spoke to one of the store managers.
I showed them the dash cam footage and loged a complaint.
This will now be looked into by ASDA.
All there vans have 360 degree cameras, which will now be looked at.
The driver is off for a couple of days and he will be spoken to about this.
its a 50/50 chance if they are just bull shitting me or really do do something about this matter.

Re: ASDA Drivers
Ca see a £50 voucher coming your way. Joking aside. What you have to remember about van drivers is this is the biggest vehicle they have every driven. They think they are still driving a car. A quick look in the mirror takes a second in a car but it should be a lot longer more in a van. That what eyes and mirrors are for.
If I was in power I would make everyone ride a moped for a two years and then they can apply for a car licence.
