Went to Bastogne, battle of the bulge fame in the Ardennes, didn't realise how big the place is,it's bloody huge.
Went to the museum, which was a good 4 hour visit.
Very informative. Considering the battle only Went on for 3 weeks it was a major turning point to bring the war to an end.
If ya ever in the area,it's well worth a visit.

Re: What did you do today?
Just had a couple of days in Snowdonia.
Weather was perfect yesterday. Not so good today. Stayed at the Oakeley Arms hotel, Maentwrog, Blaenau Ffestiniog. Pretty good for 70 quid a night.
Coffee on the way home.

Re: What did you do today?
I do less riding in the summer due to there are way too many Grockles(outsiders) in there own little world. In the last 2 days I nearly had the car written out twice.
Trust me I am a retired Doctor and lecturer at Oxford University of Structural and Mechanical/Electrical engineering.

Bounced between France, Switzerland and Italy, pass hopping. The Italian side of passes we used had no overtaking and 30mph speed limits!

Sun 34’c riding through Geneva so the wife could see the fountain (10 mins of light rain) to Martigny, Switzerland
Mon wassin around the alps with no care so fuck the temps!! It was dry
Tue 14 - 27.5’c (lower over the passes) slight sprinkle for 10 minutes (been sitting on the balcony watching the thunderstorm pass to the north of us ) Innertkirchen

Re: What did you do today?
Been out with the daughter getting her some more experience on her moped. She's got a good balance of confidence and cautiousness, albeit needing to learn to read traffic better to avoid undue hesitation on some busy junctions and roundabouts, but in the main, looking good. Much to her mother's worry and disapproval.

Re: What did you do today?
Nephew was pulled for L Plate not being mounted upright at 90 degrees. Let off with a warning by a bit over zealous cop, but technically the policeman was correct.

Re: What did you do today?
Fair outcome I'd say. The copper got his point across without any actual punishment, the kid learns he can't do just what f he thinks he can.

Re: What did you do today?
Sounds a bit like ‘Your starter for 10’ from University Challenge. The L plate was what got him pulled to see what else there was… obviously nothing, so a word in his shell-like and off he goes.
That’s just the way it works, or should I say that’s how I did it!
