Interchangeability of Windscreens

Post by eugenewright »

Hello

Had a question for the group. Are the windscreens interchangeable between a 2018 R1200RT and a 2023 R1250RT?
I ride the 2018 and a buddy just purchased the 2023. His came with a shorter windscreen that he doesn’t think he’ll like. I have the standard one. I thought we could trade for a while to see if I like the short one and if he likes the taller one. Just not sure if they are interchangeable. And of course they are still tucked away under cover for the winter. A few more weeks to go....

Thanks

Hi

The screen changed with the change in the lights goes from 3 holes each side to 2 holes don't think the earlier short screen will fit the later bikes

Correct. If you look someone like Wunderlich and at their Marathon screen. They list two very similar looking screens for the RT, but the later LED models have different part numbers due to the slightly different fixing points.

The newer RT's only use two holes. Here's a video I made.
